Police Catch Robbers Looting a Vacation Home
Rudy and his wife Elise were both doctors who worked and lived in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, a majority of the year. They were very hard working doctors, but they also had seniority in the hospital and could take time off whenever they needed. They bought some property on a mountain that served was as close to the Maine and New Hampshire border as a person could get. On the western side of the mountain was the small hamlet of Intervale, New Hampshire, and on the eastern side of the mountain was the small town of South Chatham, New Hampshire, which shared the border with the state of Maine.
They bought as many acres as possible that were relatively close to the summit of the mountain, and they had a beautiful view eastward of the foothills and lakes in Maine. The house had a long driveway that led up to it, so it was invisible from the road. They would come up weekends in the spring and fall and they would spend most of the summer up on top of the mountain. They would make it up some of the times during the winter months, but that was more difficult because the road up the mountain was closed with gates on either sides.
